Information

Doctorate in soil science/geography at the University of Kiel, Germany. Dissertation on the detection of changes in soil and degradation in the BDF soil monitoring network in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Studied geography with a focus on soil science and forest ecology at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany.

Several years of professional experience as a project manager and R&D manager in the fields of nature-based solutions, soil carbon, soil fertility, climate resilience, regenerative agriculture and agroforestry.

Rainer leads the development of customised products, models and projects based on current scientific principles. Rainer’s focus is carbon storage in soil and biomass and how it can be assessed in climate protection projects. Rainer uses his practical experience with local farmers and organisations to implement such projects in the long term and in a feasible manner.

Another area of ​​work is the planning and implementation of international on-site sampling campaigns as part of MRV or soil fertility assessments, often combined with on-site training for sustainable agriculture measures.

Rainer has been with Soil & More Impacts/sustainable AG since 2014.
